Pastry Chef

Job type: Full-time

Schedule: 8 hour shift

Site: Clayton

The Role

The Pastry Chef is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the pastry production including providing leadership and training
in the creation and production of superior food products; increasing productivity and quality standards, ensuring proper food handling practices; and providing ongoing direction and supervision to all the pastry staffs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the onboarding process of new hires
  • Direct work of employees to meet quality and on-time delivery requirements; address production challenges and communicate to Pastry/Production Manager
  • Maintain in-full raw materials and ingredients
  • Maintain standards of manufactured products by testing a sample of the product against a defined set of quality criteria and ensuring the product meets the customers’ requirements
  • Maintain timekeeping and personnel records
  • Monitor team productivity and provide performance evaluations, constructive feedback, mentorship, and discipline as needed
  • Partner with production department to manage workflow and ensure employees fully comprehend responsibilities and delegated tasks
  • Receive and track employee and customer complaints, and resolve problems
  • Record daily production reports
  • Follow and adhere to the recipe
  • Ensure policies, procedures, standard and guideline are carefully adhered to at all time

Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate patisserie or relevant areas
  • Experience as a Patisserie chef at least 1 year
  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
  • Able to work with a team
  • Able to work under the pressure and in the fast-paced environment
  • Fully understand how the rules contribute to the success of the company including a focus on quality control and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain a good level of understanding of the hospitality industry
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Basic Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Stocktake and order ingredients plan
  • Reliable and honest
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-worker
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Precision and consistency

Pastry Cook

Job type: Full-time, Part-time

Schedule: 8 hour shift

The Role

We are looking for Pastry staffs to join our team

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, weigh, and produce/package products
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Monitor flow of product into processing machinery
  • Report potential production downtime, scrap production, and quality of each machine and summarise data from shift
  • Take and follow direction from Supervisor and/or Production Manager
  • Verify compliance with quality, safety, production standards, work rules, and efficient operation of equipment
  • Work at different stations as production requires
  • Work under a time limit and ensure the products and processes quality
  • Complete daily production schedules and ensure all products are ready for delivery
  • Follow and adhere to the recipe
  • Ensure policies, procedures, standard and guideline are carefully adhered to at all time

  • Studying/working/graduated in the Patisserie or relevant areas
